Overview

For the “themed blog” sidequest, I would like to explore environmental blogs. These days, environmental issues such as global climate change are a great concern for our generation. Consequently, they are on the minds of many individuals. Environmental blogs play a big role in informing the public of the issues surrounding the environment and how to take action to help problems.
The first blog I will discuss is called Treehugger (http://www.treehugger.com/). Treehugger has been described as “the mother of all environmental blongs.” This blog provides a wealth of information on several issues pertinent to the protection of the environment. This blog really succeeds at covering all the bases. For example, it talks about science, culture, politics, fashion, and, of course, ways to help preserve the environment. Another nice thing about this blog is that it is interactive, offering quizzes.
The next blog I will discuss is called Ecogeek (http://www.ecogeek.org/). Ecogeek focuses on technology that can help save the planet. I think this blog is great because it is innovative and tries to explore new answers to environmental problems.
The next blog I will discuss is called Environmental Law Prof Blog (http://lawprofessors.typepad.com/environmental_law/). I think this blog is useful because it offers the perspective of environmental justice and argues that our whole perspective on environmental issues needs to shift towards issues of race, gender, and social class.
The next blog I will discuss is The Lazy Environmentalist (http://www.lazyenvironmentalist.com/). This blog presents easy ways to be conscious of the environment which I think is something that a lot of people are interested in. This helps people help the environment even when it is not their main priority.
The next blog I will discuss is Hippy Shopper (http://www.hippyshopper.com/). This blog is useful because it connects readers to sustainable products.
